Instructions for Your Procedure
Make Arrangements for a responsible adult to drive you home after surgery, and stay with you for the first 24 hours. Failure to do so may result in cancellation of your procedure.
You must bring your insurance ID card(s), payment for any cost share estimates, i.e., co-insurance, or deductible owed, and your picture ID. If paying by credit card the Center will only accept VISA and MasterCard. The Surgical Center bills only for the facility fee. It is your responsibility to know your insurance coverage and out of pocket expenses.
Do not eat or drink anything after midnight, the night before your surgery unless your doctor or anesthesiologist instructs otherwise. This includes foods, liquids, water, candy, gum and breath mints.
Wear loose comfortable clothing and Do Not Wear jewelry, piercings or contacts.
Medications If you take insulin or any other routine medication, your doctor or anesthesiologist will tell you how to take your medication the day of the surgery.
If you take a blood thinner (such as Coumadin, aspirin, Plavix, etc), or diet pills., MAO inhibitors, or any herbal medications, please notify your surgeon or anesthesiologist prior to the day of surgery. You may take your normal heart, blood pressure, breathing or seizure medication the morning of surgery with a small sip of water.
